Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. Her name is often credited for starting the modern research into the study of eyewitness memory and child victims as witnesses in legal settings. Professor Goodman has published widely with numerous grants, and has been recognized with various international and national awards. She has been consulted by numerous organizations and government officials across the world regarding policy guidelines and research related to child victims in the legal system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center of Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She holds memberships in many professional organizations like the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She is also a founding part of the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development, as well as the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the chief of the American Psychological Society's three divisions including Division American Psychology Law Society, Division Developmental Psychology and Division Society for Family and Child Policy and Practice.
